QotD: Gift From A Parent

Comments

Well that’s one of those gifts that gives all its lifetime not judging you or telling your secrets and knows when you’re sad and need a little wet cold nose.

I wish I could have gotten such a gift but their were always little things but we never rally gave tones of gifts like I see kids getting now a day, which made anything I got a special gift.

She was definitely a gift of love - a tangible source of love and comfort. It's weird how you can become so attached to an animal. She honestly became a family member and proof of that was the devastation and emptiness I felt (feel) when she passed. But I have tons of wonderful, happy memories of Suni that will last me a lifetime. *smile*

How they get under our skins is amazing but I never could understand people who would get another pet as if replacing a peace of furniture. I love all my pets and no other will replace them for they all had their personalities just like people some lovely dovey, others devilish and mischievous. But a memory to last a lifetime causing uncontrollable smiles and smirks at their escapades

I think some people deal with loss differently as well as love differently. Some don't know how to love and, therefore, don't become as attached to people and animals as others and can come off as being cold or uncaring. I'm a very emotional, loving person who wears my heart on my sleeve, hence I'm still having a difficult time with Suni's passing. It's not that I'm in denial or cry about her everyday, it's just I miss her presence a lot. She was such
a sweet little being.
She looks like such a sweet dog -- you're so lucky to have had such a wonderful and special friend in your life. Out of all the animals in the world, my softest spot is for animals, because they love you no matter what color you are, how big you are, what you look like, how you dress, or how intelligent you are. They're always happy to see you and are extremely loyal.

*sigh* I'm counting down the months until graduation (only 3.5!) when I will finally be able to have a dog of my own. I'm just not sure which sort of dog I'd like yet. Something fairly small and not too hard to house train. ^__^
Thanks Jen! She was the sweetest dog ever. I consider myself very blessed to be chosen to be her caretaker. She was such a loving creature who always made me feel loved no matter what. Animals are so amazing. I'm excited for you knowing you'll experience that kind of unconditional love soon! Can't wait to see what kind of doggy you pick out! ^_^
It's so incredibly hard to lose a pet. They are truly one of the family. Nothing can replace them. Nothing provides love like a dog! And people who don't love pets just don't understand.
They are irreplaceable. It's such a big loss for the entire family. But I have tons of memories to look back on along with a myriad of photos and (thankfully) video. ^_^

I agree that people who have never owned a pet don't understand. Especially a dog. I've had cats and a bird when I was young, but nothing has compared to the love and companionship of a dog. They're loyal and seek your love and attention. There is also a lot of interaction and understanding with dogs which is almost indescribable that I've never experienced with any other pet.
