I uploaded this to Flickr and thought I'd share it with those of my Vox friends who are semi-voyeurs like me. I love to see photos of where people live. Their decor and collections reveal part of their personality. My decor is obviously that of colorful cuteness. Japanese pop art is a heavy influence to the kind of art and toys I collect. It makes me smile. Now post a photo of your desk or work space!

When I said, "My foot is slipping,"
your love, O LORD, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought joy to my soul. Psalm 94:18-19
Thank you Lord for giving me strength and reassurance.
I give all that I am to do Your will.
Show me the way.

my tiny 7.25" x 7.25" (framed) TADO giclee arrived today from wurst gallery in portland, oregon! it's from the gallery's current show, wurstminster dog show, featuring over a hundred artists depicting their favorite dog breed in various art mediums. part of the proceeds from each sale go to a local animal hospital (hooray!). you can view all show pieces here. i feel so lucky to have gotten this one of a kind piece especially b/c it looks so much like suni (even though suni is a maltese, not a bichon frise). in my mind, suni was m+k's inspiration and i thank them for creating a piece that will always hold so much meaning to me.

if that wasn't enough, i received a parcel from maz containing the plush above, as well as some candy i forgot to snap a photo of. >.< i had no idea she was sending me such lovely things!! and how lucky am i to receive a treehugger prototype plush? thank you mazzle, i love them to bits!!
i have such wonderful friends. ^_^
despite having on no makeup and my bangs pinned to the side with a bobby pin, i thought i'd show you all a candid shot of the wall behind me. my three IKEA bertby cabinets house the majority of my vinyl, plush, and blythe collection. since blythe fever hit me last september, my vinyl collecting has slowed down significantly. no longer am i waiting for the next new toy to be released (save TADO toys, still looking forward to those sissyfists!) ... i'm all about the next new blythe and latest squeaky monkey clothes! i'm not ashamed to say i'm enamored by these dolls. they exude nothing but sweetness and love. i absolutely adore them! so much so, yesterday i removed my vintage peanut vinyl doll collection, 8" baseman dunny, s2 labbit set, and tons of stereotypes to make room for my and my mom's blythe collection. one girl is missing, our nameless california surfer girl (roxy), but the other five are dressed in their best SM clothes and are as happy as pie in their new spaces.
*whispers* don't really want to say too much as i plan to devote a post to her, but my dream blythe (matte hollywood) can be seen wearing her new pink goldilocks dress. ^_^
24 starts in one hour, yes!!
Show us your loot!
this year i participated in octane 3's secret santa and out of the 41 participants, who else should be my secret santa than mazzy! .. haha. as if she hasn't made me enough goodies for me this year! poor thing! it was quite the funny revelation, but i couldn't have been happier! above items were created by maz herself! please take a look at the close-up shots. the detail and amount of work put into each piece is amazing!
thanks again, mazzy!!
photos compliments of mazzle.
i've been an admirer of mr. clement's work for about a year now. what's so great about his work, aside from the fact that his designs, while being simplistic, are very strong, is that each piece is handmade. there's something wonderful about handcrafted items. it's almost like a tiny piece of the artist is inside each piece, a special added bonus for the collector. why i don't own anything by mr. clement (especially after falling in love with his lapin the moment i set eyes on it) is a mystery to me. i think i was too enthralled with the almighty dunny at the time.
but now mr. clement has created something so tempting i might have a hard time resisting, mr. yeah kou! i don't quite understand my facination with mushrooms, but i love them! something about their simple, phallic shape .. haha. now that a vinyl mr. yeah kou is in the works, i might have to invest in the plush i've been resisting (mainly due to the price). at over $50 it's a bit pricey. however, once you factor in the limited quantity and the handmade factor, it really isn't all that much. i can picture them both happily situated among the rest of my collection. i'm going to add them to my mental list of "must haves."
on a completely different note, the NHL season started! i'm so happy! there will finally be something other than crap to watch on tv (i'm so over reality shows except "the amazing race" .. ha). i'm not sure many know i'm a huge ice hockey fan. my family and i started watching it back in '93 (when my kings were good) and we've been hooked ever since. we used to go to a handful of games a year. that ended a few years ago when it seemed as if our team stopped trying, but they look somewhat promising this year, so hopefully we'll see some live action this season. at least one game before the end of the season.
i should seriously start thinking about what i'm giving my secret santa this year.
